North Korea Appears to Fire Submarine-Launched Missile
South Korean officials reported that a ballistic missile was fired from North Korea on Saturday. The U.S. Strategic Command confirmed that a ballistic missile was fired from the Sea of Japan. Obviously, a submarine-launched missile is worrisome because it would give South Korea the ability to launch missiles discreetly, with the weapons not being detected until already airborne. It is also a violation of various U.N. Security Council resolutions.
