At the Dallas rally that was focused on police brutality and the lives and killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, snipers opened fire on police around 9:00 p.m. last night. As shots rang out , mayhem ensued as civilians ran and sought cover and police started returning fire. One suspected sniper was cornered in a parking garage by police, and after a long standoff, killed by a bomb sent in by the agency. During the standoff, the suspect stated that he wanted to kill white people, particularly white police officers, and that he had planted bombs all over the city. At this time it is believed that the suspect acted alone.
