Trouble for Trump?

The New York Times reported on Sunday a connection between Donald Trump’s campaign chief, Paul Manafort, and the Pro-Russian arm of the government in Ukraine. The report stated that Manafort was slated to receive over $12 million in cash payments from this political party, from 2007-2012. Ukranian officials have stated that because Mr. Manafort was slated to receive this money, does not mean that he actually did. Manafort claims that any money received was for his work with a broad political campaign team in Ukraine, but not the Ukrainian or Russian governments. Of course, many have taken this opportunity to connect Manafort’s possible involvement with a pro-Russian political party with Mr. Trump’s hesitancy to criticize Vladimir Putin or his policies.
